The money thing. I am on a fixed income. I have also had a health issue this past year that made me dependent on medical nutrition drinks. Expensive stuff, not what you buy in stores, but also provided a bit of a predictable hedge against grocery store shock...though it's amazing how quickly one hits $100 with not one package of meat, frozen meal, or piece of fresh produce in the buggy.

So the good news is, it has been resolved and I can eat real food again. Yay! This joy was immediately followed by the thought, "Oh damn I'm going to have to buy actual groceries again?!" yay? So trying to figure out how to reshape the budget...again...while receiving another huge health ins increase. My supplemental healthcare plan, which picks up the bits & bobs Medicare doesn't pay, has doubled in 3 years. This creates a spiral where more healthy people will likely cancel their plans which leaves the rest of us to pick up a larger portion of costs.

Every time I read an article about inflation they talk about working folks and how well (or not) their salary increases are keeping up with inflation. No one ever talks about the increasing number of retired/disabled folks who are being bled out by the leeches.

The kakistocracy would rather spend a billion dollars a day on a fruitless war with Iran.

And I just saw today that the pres wants to "save" Utah's Great Salt Lake to the tune of a billion to start, with his usual war cry, "ONLY TRUMP CAN DO IT!!!" It's more like, "Let's see, which of my pet playgrounds can I pump billions into now? And to hell with the citizens, those leeches."

And it's easier to control a population that is just trying to feed their family and keep from starving.

For what it's worth: the Hegseth “new” fitness tests, well…us horse gals do those tests on a varying basis, daily, even at the tender age of “looking at being 70,” soon. Pound sand Hegseth! Hegseth could not do an honest days work at my barn without stopping for “libation” breaks.

Great way to start the day Scott. Thanks.

Can you tell us more about investigations into corruption of Trump family? Why are they so clearly and openly getting away with all of it?

As for the new physical requirements for the military; Kegsbreath goes first.

I had similar thoughts. Kegbreath should have to pass the test, in front of the troops, before any one else is required to pass it.

Very encouraged by the State-by-State detailing of ad budgets by the House Majority PAC. Also, it’s exciting to participate in the WHCA events by riding on your shoulder - no airfare needed! Thanks for the view and the info, Scott.

I’m interested in your take on the administration’s “plan” to denaturalize naturalized citizens. Thanks

Actually, to me there is no plan. The Dictator and his Nazi/Co,mumist/ICE all just grab whoever and deport that person (or persons) to El Salvador or send them off to the Twilight Zone.

Thank you for keeping us well informed. I have a question: what is the situation regarding food for our military overseas? It seemed dire a week or so ago.

Thanks so much, Scott.

Wow, you packed a lot of information in this Daily Editorial, thank you Scott !

Yes! And a lot of it is news I wouldn't get anywhere else. Great job, Scott.

It would be lovely if the grifting Trump menagerie would use some of the billions they have collected during trumps presidency to bail out their Middle East friends. Just wishful thinking.

Scott, if I was at your imagined big editorial board meeting, I'd be promoting the idea of reporting from Red States on the basis of impact research and person-on-the street constituent interviews. I'd focus on those Congressional Districts and States where their Republican Representatives and Senators are Chairing House & Senate Committees that promote the Trump agenda: war, pedophilia, corruption, voter suppression, tax breaks for the wealthy, nutrition and healthcare loss, etc. etc. Reporting must connect cause & effect where it originates and lands.

Great post! Let’s not forget another potential waste of our money: Acquiring Spirit Airlines, the crappiest on the planet.

I love this briefing. This is where people need to get their news. Thank you.

I wonder what would happen if a member of congress (think special committees) or someone in the WH was "caught" betting on political events or financial positions. I suspect they would not be treated the same as this military guy and may even be "overlooked" by FBI because of who they are. They went after this guy because he is a nobody and it made the FBI look like they were doing something good.

It's happening everyday with trump's stock market manipulations.

I get pleasure for contributing from various PACs with various names and I never know if they are legit or a scam. How about some sort of list?

Pleas, not pleasure. Good grief.
